Celebration of Mid-Autumn Festival at Mount Clear College

Local time October 15, a celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, one of the four most important Chinese festivals, was held at the Language Centre of Mount Clear College.

The celebration was hosted by Jijun Yang, Chinese Director of the Confucius Classroom. He gave a welcome speech and brief introduction about the details of the celebration to both the local and Chinese students participating in the event.

Lingna Shang, a teacher of Chinese from China, introduced the history, traditions and customs of the festival. An animation about the festival was also shown so that all the participants had a better understanding of the traditional Chinese festival.

Finally, both students and teachers enjoyed some mooncakes, a typical Chinese bakery product traditionally eaten during the Mid-Autumn Festival around the world.
