On local time October 2, a joint celebration of Mid-autumn Festival was held on Zoom by the Confucius Classroom at Mount Clear College and James Thomas Court, an aged care centre in Ballarat.

The event was hosted by Lingna Shang, a Chinese teacher of the Classroom.

Jijun Yang, Chinese Director of the Confucius Classroom, expressed his warmest greetings and passed the best regards of Jenny Bromley, Vice-principal of Mount Clear College and Director of the Confucius Classroom, to the elderly people.

Dan Liu, another Chinese teacher of the Classroom, introduced the Mid-autumn Festival by showing a cartoon depicting the history, tradition and custom of the festival.

Jijun Yang played Azalea and Amazing Grace on the flute and the Guzheng, a traditional Chinese string instrument; Lingna Shang, Dan Liu and her daughter sang May Love Last Forever; Zihan Gao, a former Chinese student studying at Mount Clear College, played Night of the Fire Festival on the Pipa, a traditional Chinese musical instrument. All the performances received rounds of applause from the aged care members and workers.
