In September, the Confucius Institute of University of Valencia(CIUV)ushers in the resumption of work and classes for the new semester. International Chinese Language Teachers Li Yuling is teaching Chinese course online.

At the beginning of the new semester, both Chinese and foreign directors , together with the teachers, hosted an online mobilization meeting. Mr. An Wenlong, the foreign director and Ms. Gao Hongbo, the Chinese director, respectively introduced teaching arrangements for the new semester and current epidemic prevention and control measures.

Due to the impact of the epidemic, since late March 2020, CIUV has suspended face-to-face classes, though teachers didn’t stop teaching and students didn’t stop studying. In the first half of the year, CIUV set up online Chinese lessons and various Chinese cultural activities. Although the format of the activities has changed, local people' enthusiasm for participating remained.

In this semester, CIUV offers a total of 20 different Chinese courses catering for students of different ages and their different learning needs. As soon as a course is launched, registration emails come in one after another, and inquiries and applicants are many. The youngest student is only 7 years old, and the oldest is in his 60s. They are eager to learn Chinese and Chinese culture. Some students told their teachers that they would study Chinese well and go to China one day in the future.
