China Hopes to Join Hands with Other Countries to Overcome Difficulties with Firm Confidence and Effective Epidemic Prevention and Control Measures

In the past few days, China’s effective measures and positive progress in combating the COVID-19 have drawn great attention from people from all walks of life in the international community. They generally believed that China has shown its responsibility as a major and responsible country, which provided a reference for other countries to fight against the pandemic. China's strong prevention and control measures have effectively controlled the further development of the pandemic. They contended that the COVID-19 is a common challenge facing humankind and all countries should work together to fight against it.

China's epidemic prevention and control has gained high evaluation, and it hopes to strengthen international cooperation and overcome difficulties with other countries together.

Zwyrazami szacuku, Rector of the University of Gdańsk in Poland, wrote a letter to University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, a Chinese partner of the Confucius Institute, expressing his support for China’s anti-epidemic actions. He said, “We have been closing following the development of pandemic, which is a challenge for governments and organizations around the world. At the same time, we thank the Chinese government and relevant departments for all their efforts and heroic struggles in overcoming the disease.”

Forough Salami-Dadkhah, Vice President of the Regional Council of Brittany of France, Jocelyne Bougeard, Deputy Mayor of Rennes, and Richard Blanchet, Director of Council of the Confucius Institute in Brittany, expressed their sympathies to China. They spoke highly of China’s epidemic prevention and control work and expressed confidence in China’s victory over the COVID-19, hoping to strengthen international cooperation to fight against the pandemic and overcome difficulties together.

Anatoly Tozik, former Belarusian Ambassador to China and Foreign Director of the Republican Confucius Institute of Sinology at Belarusian Statе University said that China has made inconceivable efforts in a very short time to effectively fight against the pandemic and delay its spread to other countries.

Joel Pearsall, President of Northwest Nazarene University, said, “Today, we would like you to know that when you are dealing with the COVID-19, we will pray for you and we are looking forward to your safety and health. We will be always with you.”

Raul Azcunaga, Vice-Chancellor of the University of El Salvador, said “the University of El Salvador and the people of El Salvador attach great importance to the Confucius Institute. We will fully support the Confucius Institute in carrying out its work in an orderly manner. We know that the Chinese government has made great progress in fighting against the pandemic. We wish the Chinese people can overcome the pandemic as soon as possible and we will always be with you.”

Sandrine Henneron, Vice-President of NEOMA Business School in France, hoped the COVID-19 could end at an early date and the academic circles of China and France could resume cooperation as soon as possible.

In Kyrgyzstan, Kanat Sadykov, President of Kyrgyz National University, said that Kyrgyzstan and China have close contact in many fields, and the sound development of China also influences the hearts of the Kyrgyz people. He believed that under the overall planning of the Chinese government, the Chinese people will surely overcome the pandemic.

T. Satylganova, Principal of the 69th Secondary School of Bishkek, a Confucius Classroom affiliated with the Confucius Institute at Kyrgyz National University, went to Chinese Embassy in Kyrgyzstan in late February to submit a personal letter to Ambassador Du Dewen, expressing sympathies and support to the Chinese people who are struggling to fight against the COVID-19.

She said, “the school has been supported and assisted by the Confucius Institute Headquarters for a long time. I have been to China many times to learn about the Chinese government’s governance capability and I wish all patients a speedy recovery. All teachers and students of the school thanked the Chinese Embassy in the Kyrgyzstan for their long-term help.”

Omurbekova, Principal of 31st Secondary School of Bishkek, a Confucius Classroom affiliated with the Confucius Institute at Kyrgyz National University, said in a letter of sympathies to the Chinese Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, “it will be dawn after dark night. I believe that China will definitely overcome the pandemic with its national power and will always be prosperous. We will always remember the efforts that the Chinese government has made in advancing and perfecting the modernization process in Kyrgyzstan.”

B. R. Deepak, an Indian sinologist and Director of the Center of Chinese and Southeast Asian Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University, said that given the transmissibility of the COVID-19 and the spread rate of the pandemic, the world needs to face it together, and all countries should join hands to fight against it together.
