Stay United and Help Each Other —— “China, We Stand Together with You”!

Virus shows no mercy while the world is full of love. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19, the World Health Organization (WHO) and many countries have highly valued China's efforts. People all around the world who study and love Chinese have also expressed their deepest sympathies and best wishes to the Chinese people.

Blessings Across Borders

Thousands of people including Ghanaian Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, Chinese Ambassador to Ghana Wang Shiting, teachers and students of the Confucius Institute, representatives of overseas Chinese and businesses, and Ghanaian people gathered at the China-Ghana Friendship Road on February 25, 2020 at Ghanaian time to sign their names to cheer up China's fight against the novel coronavirus.

Ghanaian Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia acclaimed China for its great efforts and sacrifices in dealing with the epidemic. He was convinced that China would definitely win the battle against the coronavirus and said in Chinese, "Stay strong, China! Stay strong, Wuhan”.

Synn llhi, President of Keimyung University in the Republic of Korea expressed sincere sympathies to all those engaged in the fight against the novel coronavirus. “I believe that working together, we are sure to overcome the trial and tribulation. I sincerely hope that the epidemic can be controlled at an early date with everyone staying healthy and life getting back to normal”, said Synn llhi.

“We extend our greetings and support to the Chinese government and Chinese people that stay united in the war against the virus. As the Chinese government is taking effective measures to get through the difficulty, we are certain that China can develop a vaccine to eradicate the virus and pandemic as soon as possible”, said Roger Arias, President of the University of El Salvador.


Vice-President of NEOMA Business School in France said that on behalf of the School and all my colleagues, I would like to express my strongest support to all my Chinese friends whom I believe have the ability to overcome any difficulty.

Elio Franzini, Rector of University of Milan, said in a letter to its Chinese partner university of the Confucius Institute that in recent years the Confucius Institute at the university has made great achievements in promoting Chinese teaching in Italy, expanding friendly cultural exchanges between China and Italy, and improving the university’s reputation globally.

On behalf of all the teachers and students, I would like to express our sympathies to the teachers and students of Liaoning Normal University and the Chinese people who are currently fighting against the novel coronavirus epidemic. I would like to pay my highest respect to the Chinese people who are struggling to prevent and control the disease. I hope we can reach a consensus, strengthen cooperation and write a new chapter for China-Italy friendship.

“We believe the strong Chinese government and Chinese people will definitely win the battle against the coronavirus. Stay strong, Wuhan! Stay strong, China”, said Dr. Ram Kantha Makaju Shrestha, Vice chancellor of Kathmandu University in Nepal.

All the faculty and students of Nigeria's Nnamdi Azikewe University (NAU) will stand with the kind-hearted Chinese people as always during the tough time. We are determined that China will fight and win the battle against the epidemic”, said Charles Esimone, NAU Vice Chancellor.

Rodney Smith, President and CEO of the University of the Bahamas (UB) expressed solidarity and support to all the faculty, staff and students of Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology (NUIST) and all the Chinese people. He said, “Lands apart, sky shared. We wish for a quick resolution to this outbreak so that normalcy is resumed and NUIST and China can continue to succeed”.

Michael L. Tan, Chancellor of University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD), said in a letter to the President of Xiamen University, “The friendship between the Philippines and China has a long history. UPD deeply felt the pain and challenges brought by the outbreak to the Chinese people. On behalf of UPD, I would like to express my deepest sympathy and sincere greetings to the Chinese people. I promise that UPD will take good care of the Chinese faculty working at the Confucius Institute at UPD and wish China a quick victory over the epidemic”.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Khosht, President of Cairo University in Egypt, said, “I sincerely greet China and the Chinese people and wish you safe and healthy. I would also like to extend my most earnest greetings to the Chinese teachers at the Chinese department of Cairo University and at the Confucius Institute, as well as teachers and students from China at all departments of Cairo University.

Cairo University cherishes exchanges and cooperation with China and thanks the Chinese Ministry of Education and the Confucius Institute Headquarters for their support. The Egyptian people will always stand with the Chinese people. In the time of difficulties, we must continue to support each other and jointly tackle challenges!

Prof. Premakumara de Silva, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, said that he felt sorrowful about the coronavirus outbreak in China. But he had faith in the Chinese people, the people of Wuhan in particular that they would be stronger after the disease. On behalf of the Faculty of Arts and the Sri Lankan people, he prayed for the Chinese people.
