Confucius Classroom at Mount Clear College Holds Traditional Chinese Culture Show on Open Day

On February 13th, local time, Mount Clear College had an open day on which the Confucius Classroom held a traditional Chinese cultural show for the local citizens and students visiting the college.

At 7:00pm, when the first group turned up at the Confucius Classroom, Jijun Yang, Chinese Director of the Confucius Classroom, played the Hulusi ( a traditional Chinese minorities’musical instrument), the nice soothing music and the unique shape of which attracted the eyes of everybody. Jo Bell, Leader of the Language Centre, and JijunYang gave a brief introduction about the teaching and learning of Chinese and Japanese, the China trip and other cultural activities regularly held at the language centre.

After the introduction, some citizens enjoyed the Chinese tea, some watched the calligraphy and Chinese painting show and some students, following Jijun Yang, prctised Taichi. Before leaving, a lot of students expressed their expectations of attending Mount Clear College next year.

The whole event lasted until 8:30pm, attracting 6 groups of over 200 citizens and students to visit the Confucius Classroom and experience the traditional Chinese culture.
