At the ceremony, Liu Min, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, introduced to the guests the achievements made by the Confucius Institute at the University of Khartoum in teachers, facilities and enrollment scale over the past ten years.

Ma Xinmin pointed out in his speech that after ten years of unremitting efforts, the Confucius Institute at the University of Khartoum has grown into an important platform for Chinese language teaching in Sudan. It has trained a large number of Chinese language talents for government departments including the Ministry of Petroleum(Sudan), the Ministry of Energy and Mining, the Security Bureau, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Immigration Bureau, the Ministry of Tourism, as well as primary and secondary schools and enterprises, becoming a shining "business card" for the University of Khartoum. It is hoped that the Confucius Institute at the University of Khartoum will continue to make further efforts to become a "model" of Chinese language teaching, an "explorer" of cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and Sudan, and an "inheritor" of China—Sudan friendship in the following ten years.
