The Confucius Institute at University of the Bahamas Holds HSK Series Tests for the 2019 Fall Semester

On Dec 1st, 2019, the Confucius Institute at University of the Bahamas (CIUB) held HSK series tests for the fall semester of this year, which comprised HSK 1, HSK 2 and HSKK Elementary TESTs. The total number of test-takers reached 30 which were chiefly made up of students of credit mandarin courses and students of adult mandarin courses.

The CIUB attached great importance to the tests. Before the tests, the CIUB gave relevant orientations to the test-takers and held mock tests and analyzed the test questions for them. The CIUB also gave test-takers detail instructions on various aspects of the tests. Besides, invigilators of the tests were give strict training before the tests, who made a careful overview of the relevant content of “the Manual on the Management of Chinese Language Tests.” The CIUB also a made contingency plan to handle any potential accidents that might occur in the tests. The day before the tests, the CIUB faculty and staff inspected and prepared the test room and tested the audio equipment to be used for the test.

On the morning and afternoon of Dec. 1st, HSK 1, HSK 2 and HSKK Elementary tests went on successfully separately.


A test-taker focusing on answering test questions

According to informed sources, with the continuous growth of Chinese language education, the total number of test-takers participating in HSK, HSKK and YCT tests each year are also increasing steadily, from the 21 test-takers in 2017 to the 63 test-takers in 2018 and to the 74 test-taker so far in 2019. Students of mandarin courses have increasingly greater enthusiasm in registering for the tests. For instance, over 90% of the students of “University Elementary Chinese I”credit course registered for and wrote HSK 1 test this time.
