Confucius Classroom of Confucius Institute in Sofia Holds Opening Ceremony

On September 16th, local time, the Confucius Classroom at Sofia No. 18 Middle School of the Confucius Institute in Sofia in Bulgaria held an opening ceremony. Many distinguished guests attended the ceremony, including Rumen Radev, President of Bulgaria, Savina Savova, Head of Sofia Renaissance District, Dong Xiaojun, Chinese Ambassador in Bulgaria, Mao Yancheng, Head of the Education Section of the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria, and representatives from embassies of the United State, Russia, South Korea, Japan, Egypt and Kuwait in Bulgaria.

Activity scene

In her speech, Velichka Stoicheva, President of Sofia No. 18 Middle School, thanked the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria and the Confucius Institute in Sofia for their support and assistance in Chinese language teaching in Bulgaria. She noted that the School has made significant progress in Chinese language teaching by conducting sound cooperation with the Confucius Institute in Sofia.

Rumen Radev affirmed the work done by Sofia No. 18 Middle School and extended best wishes for all teachers and students in the new semester.

Bulgarian President delivering a speech

Later, accompanied by Velichka Stoicheva, Rumen Radev and other guests visited the school’s classrooms, digital classrooms and library. They praised the good learning atmosphere here.

Visiting library

During the visit, Rumen Radev had friendly communication with Dong Xiaojun. They both hoped to further promote the friendship between the two peoples by advancing Chinese language teaching and development.
