Confucius Institute at University of Orleans of France Unveiled

The Confucius Institute at the University of Orleans of France was unveiled on July 8th. Over 100 guests, including Yu Jingsong, Charge d’Affaires ad Interim of the Chinese Embassy in France, François Bonneau, President of Region of Centre-Val de Loire, and representatives from all walks of life in China and France, attended the unveiling ceremony.

In his speech, François Bonneau expressed his gratitude to both Chinese side and French side for their efforts in preparation for the Confucius Institute at the University of Orleans, and extended congratulations on the establishment of the Confucius Institute. He said that the Confucius Institute at the University of Orleans will open a new window for more scholars, teachers and students to understand Chinese culture and language, elevate the Chinese language teaching in Region of Centre-Val de Loire to a new level, and make contributions to promoting the educational and cultural cooperation and exchanges between France and China.

Yu Jingsong noted that this year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of China-France diplomatic relations and people-to-people exchanges and cooperation between the two countries are enjoying a strong momentum. The Confucius Institute at the University of Orleans will open a new window for China-France friendship and provide more reserve talents for the long-lasting and in-depth development of China-France relations.

The Confucius Institute at the University of Orleans is jointly established by the University of Orleans and Central South University.
