On June 21, World Music Day was celebrated across the world. Musicians celebrate the World Music Day with open-air performances all over the city as well as in public cultural institutions. Organizers usually use busy walks and the pedestrian zone to surprise the public and remind people of the importance of music.

Among all the local performances, Chinese song singing and Chinese traditional dancing prepared by CI were outstanding and exotic. Tijana Mijatović, a student from CI presented a Chinese modern song in the municipality hall at 11:30 am.

This was the second time for CI to celebrate the World Music Day with the Academy of Art in Banja Luka. By showing Chinese elements in public, CI provided a good opportunity for people to experience more Chinese culture elements.

World Music Day takes place every year on 21 June. On the first day of summer, the World Music Day is celebrated with free concerts in hundreds of cities around the world. In Banja Luka it is celebrated by a series of concerts in public places and parks organized by students and professors of the Academy of Arts.

World Music Day is officially supported by the City of Banja Luka. In 2010, the Academy of Arts of the University of Banja Luka officially ranked the city of Banja Luka among the 384 cities in the world that celebrate this holiday.
