Confucius Institute Boosts University-Enterprise Cooperation Between China and Thailand

On March 30th, 2019, China’s Dali University signed the Memorandum of Cooperation on “Dali University’s Overseas Internship and Practice Base” with Talesun Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd., which is located in Thai-Chinese Rayong Industrial Zone, Rayong, Thailand, and held the unveiling ceremony. Wang Hua, President of Dali University, Cheng Dijun, Executive Deputy General Manager of Talesun Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Liu Ming, Chinese Director of the Maritime Silk Road Confucius Institute at Phranakhon Rajabhat University in Thailand, and other guests attended the ceremony. As another practical cooperation after the implementation of the Chinese language training project jointly launched by the Maritime Silk Road Confucius Institute at Phranakhon Rajabhat University and Talesun Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd., this base will strongly support the talent training in countries along the “Belt and Road”.

Before the signing ceremony, a delegation led by Wang Hua, President of Dali University, which is the Chinese partner university of the Maritime Silk Road Confucius Institute at Phranakhon Rajabhat University, held talks with Cheng Dijun, Executive Deputy General Manager of Talesun Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd., and relevant personnel. Cheng Dijun extended heartfelt gratitude to the Maritime Silk Road Confucius Institute at Phranakhon Rajabhat University for its support and assistance in the Chinese language teaching and the establishment of university-enterprise cooperation projects. He believed that Thai employees’ Chinese proficiency levels play a pivotal role in the development of Chinese-funded enterprises in Thailand and the Confucius Institute provides convenient and high-standard Chinese language training, meeting their urgent needs. The establishment of this base serves as an opportunity to discover and cultivate talents and provides a good platform of overseas internship and practice for Chinese university students, which is a measure helping the two sides to achieve mutual benefits and win-win results.

President Wang Hua thanked Talesun Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd. for its support to the Maritime Silk Road Confucius Institute at Phranakhon Rajabhat University and Dali University. He noted that this was a good start of the multi-cooperation and expected more achievements in the near future that would benefit the people, universities and enterprises in China and Thailand. Liu Ming, Chinese Director of the Maritime Silk Road Confucius Institute at Phranakhon Rajabhat University also hoped to continue the multi-cooperation with other enterprises in the industrial zone and would proactively assist Chinese and Thai partner universities in carrying out the multi-cooperation with enterprises in the industrial zone on technological research, skill training, talent training, and etc.
