The event attracted many teachers, students, parents, and Philippine people.

Guests

Liang Guanghan, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at Ateneo de Manila University, said that Chinese education in the Philippines has gone through a longtime of hardships, and it is still there in the midst of changes. Its success is inseparable from the support and contributions of the predecessors, peers and all walks of life of China and the Philippines. We should further emphasize the important role of language in communication, adapt to modern scientific and technological development, and continuously innovate teaching methods with a view to make more people experience the unique charm of the combination of technology and culture.

Shi Ziyun reviewed the development stages of Chinese education in the Philippines and said that Chinese culture is a treasure of world culture. Inheriting and promoting Chinese culture and developing Chinese education in the Philippines is a great project of Chinese communities. The establishment of the Confucius Institute and the volunteer Chinese teachers in the country bring us new hope.

Huang Duanming said that the combination of Chinese language courses and Internet and multimedia technology is a major trend in the development of modern education. This event is a new attempt of “Internet + Chinese Education in the Philippines”. New digital technology will bring new experience to the young in the Philippines. Such activities should be held in Chinese schools and Chinese communities regularly and there will be a very big impact.

There were AR, VR and other event booths for visitors to experience. These products vividly showed people representative elements of the Spring Festival, such as the Year of the Beast, the God of Wealth, and the Chinese Bashu characteristic culture such as “Sichuan Opera Turns Hostile”. Interesting 3DAR posters, colored-drawing cards and other interactive games help the people to intuitively experience New Year’s Eve dinner, lion dance, firecrackers and other New Year customs. The English interpretation explains the profound cultural connotations behind these elements and customs. The Bashu poetry type printing and the Chinese character writing competition of “Easy Chinese” APP allow students to experience the charm of ancient Chinese printing, and also stimulate their interest in learning Chinese. The on-site teaching of “smart guzheng” also attracted a large number of students to watch, and everyone was immersed in the beautiful melody of Chinese traditional instruments.
