Opening Ceremony of Chinese Summer Camp for Vocational Education Successfully Held at Maritime Silk Road Confucius Institute

On March 16th, the Maritime Silk Road Confucius Institute, together with the Office of the Vocational Education Commission in Thailand launched the opening ceremony for “Chinese Language and Culture” summer camp at the Ministry of Education of Thailand. Dr. Prachakom Juntarachit, Deputy Secretary-General of the OVEC, Wang Shangxue, the acting Chinese director of the Confucius Institute, as well as more than twenty regional principals, presidents and teachers of Thai vocational colleges and schools attended the event.

Prachakom Juntarachit spoke highly of the cooperation projects between the Confucius Institute and the OVEC. He appreciated Tianjin Normal University’s efforts in receiving the 45 delegates from the elite group of Thai vocational education and the group of Luang Phor Khoon Vocational Technical Institute, and raised his expectations and requirements for their future study in China. He encouraged those students to better their knowledge in language and culture, to improve their work with what they have learned, and to contribute to smoother exchanges between the governments and the people of the two countries.

Wang Shangxue also congratulated the students on their successful completion of the preliminary training courses. On behalf of Tianjin Normal University, she warmly welcomed all the students, wishing them a more fruitful stay in China

To promote the cooperation between Thailand 4.0 Strategy and the Belt and Road Initiative, the Maritime Silk Road Confucius Institute has always paid attention to the development of vocational education in Thailand, and is committed to co-training high-level application-oriented talents featuring “Chinese language plus professional skills” in Thailand with the OVEC.
