Confucius Institute of Artois University Participates in the China Week Cultural Activities of Dunkirk

On February 20th, 22nd and 23rd, 2018, invited by two schools that Collège Jules Ferry and Lycée Europe in Dunkirk, the Confucius Institute of Artois University sent Xu Meng, a volunteer Chinese teacher to demonstrate and teach Tai Chi and Tai Chi Sword, in order to support their cultural activity of China Week. This activity lasted twelve hours in total, attracted more than 340 participants.

The volunteer Chinese teacher Xu Meng first attended the activity at Collège Jules Ferry on February 20 and 22. Lots of teachers and students from the primary schools nearby joined the activity. The time of each group is half an hour, and the process is divided into four parts,which are the five-minutes demonstration of Tai Chi,the five-minutes warming up, the fifteen-minutes experiencing of Tai Chi teaching and the five-minutes demonstration of Tai Chi Sword.

On February 23, the teacher went to Lycée Europe to do the same work as above with the teachers and students of different middle schools. All the participants showed great interests and enthusiasm, took an active part in the activity and enjoyed it.

This cultural event was successfully completed with the help and support of the teachers and students at local schools, which strengthened the links and cooperation between the Confucius Institute of Artois University and the schools that teach Chinese in Dunkirk.
