Invited by Lycée Baudimont à Arras, the Confucius Institute of Artois arranged a martial arts experiencing activity on October 17th, 2017.

At 8 a.m., Chinese teacher Chen Jinqiu and volunteer teacher Wu Qian organized a Baguazhang experiencing class with the help of local Chinese teacher Xie Jinjing. During the class, Wu Qian taught the students to do warm-up exercises first. Then she showed some motions of Baguazhang, which attracted the students a lot. After that, the students learned how to salute in Chinese martial arts and how to step in Baguazhang. Wu also taught some representative motions of Eight Mother Palms of Baguazhang, during which the students were active and showed great interests in traditional Chinese Martial Arts.

In the afternoon, Chinese teacher Wei Wenke introduced the Yin-yang theory of Tai Chi, and taught some motions of Tai Chi Boxing and Tai Chi Sword to the students. The children enjoyed a lot in Tai Chi experiencing activity. Volunteer teacher Xu Meng at the Confucius Institute and local Chinese teacher Xie Jinjing also participated in this Tai Chi class as assistants.
