Since 2007, Henan Province has been an organizer of the “Chinese Bridge” activities sponsored by the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban). It is also the second time for Henan to receive high school students from Belgium. Diao Yuhua, Deputy Director of the Henan Provincial Department of Education, required that all the receptions should be carried out in the principle of “cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and practicality”. He hoped that the “Chinese Bridge” summer camp activities could further facilitate people-to-people and cultural exchanges between China and Belgium, improve understanding and friendship between youths of both countries, and allow more Belgian youths to actively learn Chinese language and traditional Chinese culture so as to serve as ambassadors of friendship to tell the stories of China, the stories of Henan Province, and to disseminate the voices of China.
