—“Chinese Sights and Sounds” Concert Held at Koldinghus in Denmark

On May 19th local time, the Confucius Classroom at the International Business Academy of Denmark invited Tianjin Women’s Philharmonic Orchestra to hold “Chinese Sights and Sounds, Folk Songs of China” Concert at Koldinghus. Thirteen artists from the women’s orchestra presented with their whole hearts twelve orchestra pieces with the theme of Chinese folk music for more than a hundred local people.

The concert began with the cheerful melodyBeaming with Joy at Sunrise.Wuxi SceneryandBamboo-flute Tunebrought the audience to the drizzling season of the southern bank of the Yangtze River. Grief and dreariness conveyed inLittle CabbageandJourney beyond Xikoubrought the audience to tears. The humorous and lively melody in Song ofHorse HerdingandSong of Riddlesbrought the audience into the life of China’s southwestern ethnic minorities;the Jasmine Flower, the Evergreen Mountain and the Butterfly Loversexpressed the beauty and eternity of love. With music, artists deeply fascinated the audience by unrolling a series of vivid pictures depicting Chinese folk customs with people’s love, happiness and sorrows across the country.

In the end, Tianjin Women’s Philharmonic Orchestra presented a great musical composition of Denmark,Song of Harvestfor the audience, pushing the atmosphere to its climax. The audience clapped their hands as the beat of the melody in excitement, and the music and applause resounded through Koldinghus. After the show, the audiences expressed their gratitude to the Confucius Classroom for organizing such a wonderful concert which fosters closer and deeper friendship between Denmark and China.
