Chinese Major Established in University Hassan II Casablanca of Morocco
On Feb. 10th, the opening ceremony of the Chinese major of the College of Arts of University Hassan II Casablanca was held in Casablanca, Morocco.
H.E. Sun Shuzhong, Chinese Ambassador to Morocco, said in his speech that via establishing Chinese major and providing Chinese curriculums, University Hassan Ⅱ Casablanca has opened a new window for the mutual understanding between the two peoples and added a new engine for the exchanges and interactions between the two civilizations. He encouraged the teachers to well fulfill the teaching tasks and actively cultivate future-oriented messengers of China-Morocco friendship.
Guests including Idriss Mansouri, President of University Hassan Ⅱ Casablanca, and Mohammed Khalil, President of Morocco-China Friendship Association respectively thanked the Chinese Embassy in Morocco for its support and help during the establishment of the Chinese major in University Hassan Ⅱ Casablanca, and expressed that the University would devote itself to conducting exchanges and cooperation in many fields including education, training and research with China, making University Hassan Ⅱ Casablanca a pioneer in China-Morocco cultural exchanges.
Soon after, the students majoring Chinese of the University and the teachers and students of the Confucius Institute performed wonderful programs.
It is reported that University Hassan Ⅱ Casablanca is the second university in Morocco to establish Chinese major following the step of University of Mohammed Ⅴ in Rabat.
