Longhai, a junior high school student, said that the cultural comparison between the Chinese and Thai lantern festivals has deepened his interest in learning Chinese. "The lanterns of the Chinese Lantern Festival are hung up high, while the lanterns of the Thai Lantern Festival are usually placed in the water. Both traditions represent people’s good wishes for happiness.
