Chinese Vice Minister of Culture Visits Confucius Institute at University of Yaoundé II
On Jan. 12th local time, a delegation led by Ding Wei, Chinese Vice Minister of Culture visited the Confucius Institute at University of Yaoundé II in Cameroon. H.E. Sun Wei, Political Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Cameroon accompanied the delegation.

Ding’s delegation visited the language course classroom, the cultural course classroom, the culture exhibition stand as well as the photo exhibition of the Confucius Institute, and interacted with Chinese language students. In the language course classroom, students of the second-level class extemporaneously recited the poetry Our Imagination in Stepping into the New Year. In the cultural course classroom, first-level-class students gave their calligraphy works “Happy New Year” written in Chinese to Ding, expressing New Year wishes. Ding delegation was also deeply impressed by Confucius Institute magazines and brochures displayed at the culture exhibition stand as well as the photo exhibition of the Confucius Institute. Yu Guoyang, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at University of Yaoundé II briefed on the construction achievements of the Confucius Institute in teaching, culture, branding activities and other aspects during the past ten years.

Ding expressed that the Chinese culture is extensive and profound. It is hoped that the students are able to comprehend, achieve as well as apply what they have learn. Meanwhile, he expressed sincere appreciation for the achievements made by the Confucius Institute at University of Yaoundé II in Chinese language teaching and culture expanding.
Inauguration of “Chinese Culture Month& Film Festival”
Afterwards, Ding and Pierre Emmanuel Tabi, Cameroonian Director of the Confucius Institute, jointly unveiled the plaque for the “Chinese Culture Month & Film Festival” of the Confucius Institute at University of Yaoundé II. Teachers and students of the Confucius Institute performed martial arts routines, chorus as well as other wonderful shows.
