Directors’ Forums of the 11th Confucius Institute Conference held
Yesterday, the Directors’ Forums of the 11th Confucius Institute Conference were held at the Kunming Dianchi Convention & Exhibition Center.
The directors of the Confucius Institutes from many countries gathered together and had extensive and in-depth discussions on seven main issues including “Quality of CI Directors and Teachers”, “Chinese Language Resources Translated into All Possible Languages”, “A Global System for Chinese Language Proficiency Tests Service”, “Cultural Exchange in Both Directions” and “Confucius China Studies Program: Reflections and Visions”.
At the forum of “Chinese Language Resources Translated into All Possible Languages”, experts and delegates shared their views on “the future trend of online distance Chinese learning” and “how to make Chinese learning easier”. The “Cultural Exchange in Both Directions” forum focused on how to bring the role of Confucius Institute as a platform into full play by not only introducing Chinese language and culture to the world, but also bringing the global culture into China and thus achieve cultural exchange in both directions; The “Confucius China Studies Program: Reflections and Visions” session reviewed the impetus given by the Confucius China Studies Program to the international promotion of Chinese language and its future potentials; The “Quality Evaluation of Confucius Institutes” and “Quality of CI Directors and Teachers” forums paid special attention to ways of improving the staff competence and teaching quality of Confucius Institute from various perspectives.
The directors all expressed their intention to further develop educational and people-to-people exchange and build better Confucius Institutes by dint of the favorable policies of “Belt & Road” construction and the unique geographical advantages of Yunnan province so that the world will know more about China and Yunnan.
