On Dec. 13, authorized by Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), Master Phraprommangkalachan, Thailand Chairman of the Maritime Silk Road Confucius Institute Board of Directors, Pong Horadal, President of Phranakhon Rajabhat University and Zhang Qiaogui, President of Dali University jointly signed the agreement on establishing the Maritime Silk Road Confucius Institute at Phranakhon Rajabhat University.

The Maritime Silk Road Confucius Institute at Phranakhon Rajabhat University is a subordinate institute established in accordance with the development of situation and work demand of the Maritime Silk Road Confucius Institute. As an institute with relatively independent operation, the Maritime Silk Road Confucius Institute at Phranakhon Rajabhat University will run under the guidance of Maritime Silk Road Confucius Institute, complete the tasks assigned by it and be incorporated into the its overall development framework.

At the signing ceremony, Phranakhon Rajabhat University and Dali University expressed that the establishment of the Maritime Silk Road Confucius Institute at Phranakhon Rajabhat University is the mission endowed by the times. They will make a good start and devote unremitting efforts to improving the level of Chinese teaching, expanding cultural exchanges, enhancing the friendship between the two peoples and cultivating qualified people for the two countries and societies.

Phranakhon Rajabhat University is the first university in Thailand to train teachers, and now it is a university with multiple subjects including education, management, humanities and industrial technology. Leading in medicine, pharmacy, pedagogy, and biology, and featuring ethnology and art, Dali University is a comprehensive university with multidisciplinary integration and multi-level coordinated development. The two universities have enjoyed friendly cooperation for years, and are practice bases of Chinese and Thai teaching for each other.
