Confucius Institute at Wonkwang University hosts 2016 Sino-Korean Enterprise Forum on Industrial-Academic-Research Cooperation, Investment Information and Technology Exchange
On April 7, the Confucius Institute at Wonkwang University and Wonkwang University hosted the “2016 Sino-Korean Enterprise Forum on Industrial-Academic-Research Cooperation, Investment Information and Technology Exchange”. Wonkwang University president Jin Daozong, China’s Hunan Liuyang National Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee chairman Guo Lifu, and personnel from related university offices, Korean businesses, and various Korean university research centers were in attendance at the forum.
At the forum
Chinese and Korean parties signing a MOU agreement
At the forum, Wonkwang University and the Liuyang National Economic and Technological Development Zone signed an MOU agreement covering their cooperation in joint industrial-academic endeavors, project development, vocational training, research, and many other aspects. At the same time, the representatives of more than 50 Korean enterprises present at the forum expressed their intent to invest and produce goods in the Liuyang National Economic and Technological Development Zone. Several product export agreements are already in place.
The Confucius Institute at Wonkwang University is an active practitioner of the "close cooperation, mutual benefit and win-win" development strategy, and by pressing home the advantages of China’s Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Korea’s Wonkwang University, it makes itself a platform to facilitate Sino-Korean university cooperation and personnel exchange, assisting Korean and Chinese businesses in their quest to “send out” their products and “bring in” new technology.
The agreement signed at the forum and the forum itself represent a concrete step by the Confucius Institute at Wonkwang University toward becoming a Confucius Institute that features collaboration among enterprises, universities, and R&D institutes. They mark a deepening of the cooperation between the Chinese and Korean partner universities, facilitate practical cooperation between Korean and Chinese enterprises, and offer a new ideal and model for the Confucius Institute’s future.
