Mdm. Fu Ying visits the Confucius Institute at the University of the South Pacific
On September 18th (local time), Mdm. Fu Ying, Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress, and her delegation visited the Confucius Institute at the University of the South Pacific (USP) in Fiji. Zhang Ping, Chinese Ambassador to Fiji, accompanied her on the visit.
Prof. Rajesh Chandra, Vice-Chancellor and President of USP, extended his welcome to Mdm. Fu Ying’s visit and presented to the guests a brief introduction to the University. Mdm. Fu expressed her thanks to the President and conducted in-depth discussions with him on issues like student exchange and development of academic disciplines at USP.

Then, accompanied by the Chinese and local directors of the Confucius Institute, Mdm. Fu and her entourage visited the Confucius Institute at USP, where she introduced the functions of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress to experts and scholars of international relations and student representatives of USP and exchanged ideas with them on topics like China’s role in international affairs.
Finally, with great pleasure, Mdm. Fu wrote “language is a bridge” as her good wish for the Confucius Institute.
