On July 6th (local time), the five-day Trnovo Camp, hosted by the Confucius Institute at University of Ljubljana in Slovenia, was launched in a classroom decorated with items of Chinese characteristics. Five volunteer teachers from Shanghai University of International Business and Economics (SUIBE) attended the opening ceremony and presented fantastic performances including Chinese fan dance, Taijiquan, Erhu and the Chinese song Blue and White Porcelain, which won rounds of applause from the 25 students and their parents at the ceremony. In this summer camp, students practiced Taijiquan and fan dance, painted the Great Wall and Terra-Cotta Warriors, tasted Chinese cuisines, and learned how to make dumplings. The parents said that their children have learned a lot through these activities. They also thanked the teachers for their efforts and extended their wishes to travel in China so as to truly experience Chinese culture.
