Chinese Medicine Confucius Institute at Hyogo College of Medicine holds a health lecture for local residents

On July 11th, Chinese Medicine Confucius Institute at Hyogo College of Medicine in Japan held a health lecture for local residents, which attracted about 70 attendees.

Wu Jihong, director of the Confucius Institute and professor from the School of Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Tuina in Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, gave lectures respectively on “acupoints and their effect” and “auricular acupressure”. During the first session, Prof. Wu explained the basic concepts of body meridians and acupoints. Then she showed the audience how to locate the “four command acupoints” (the four highly effective points on four limbs), and expounded on their clinical effects.

In the second session, with an ear model and an acupoint diagram as aids, Prof. Wu explained the concept of auricular acupressure, the distribution of auricular acupoints, and their contribution to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. By way of illustration, she demonstrated how to relieve pain by auricular acupressure.

The audience spoke highly of the lecture, saying that they gained a lot of practical knowledge which could benefit the health of them and their family.
