The 1st “Distinguished Teacher Award” ceremony held at Confucius Institute at Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary

On May 19th, the Confucius Institute at Eötvös Loránd University in Hungary held the annual work report meeting of the 2014-2015 academic year and the award ceremony of the 1st “Distinguished Teacher Award”.  Forty-three Chinese teachers and volunteers from all the teaching sites of the Confucius Institute attended the meeting.

The meeting consisted of three sessions including the annual general meeting, work summary presentations of retired teachers and volunteers, award ceremony of the “Distinguished Teacher Award” of the Confucius Institute. Ms. Li Min, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, highly affirmed the dedicated efforts made by Chinese volunteers and teachers over the past year and commended them as volunteers with “knowledge, responsibility, passion, sense of mission, love, ability and the courage to conquer themselves”.

Conferring the medal to the winner of the “Distinguished Teacher Award”

In order to motivate the teachers to be passionate and dedicated to their jobs and to make more achievements, the Confucius Institute set up the incentive mechanism of “Distinguished Teacher Award” for the first time. In the academic year from 2014 to 2015, Mr. Kong Meng won the award with his outstanding teaching skills and high popularity among students. Dr. Hudecz Ferenc, former president of Eötvös Loránd University and honorary council member of Hanban, was invited to confer the award. He highly praised the Confucius Institute at Eötvös Loránd University as one of the most excellent Confucius Institutes in the world and expressed his thanks to the Chinese and Hungarian Directors of the Confucius Institute for their remarkable contributions to the construction of the Confucius Institute and all the Chinese teachers and volunteers for making ceaseless efforts to boost China-Hungary cultural exchange and communication.
