“Chinese Lounge” broadcasted by the Confucius Institute at the University of Guyana

On March 8th, 2015, local time, Guyana, the radio program “Chinese Lounge” was successfully broadcasted by the Confucius Institute at the University of Guyana (CIUG). This is a program jointly produced by CIUG and Guyana’s national radio station I-Radio. It has been well received by people from all walks of life since it was first aired.

“Chinese Lounge”, a bilingual program both in English and Chinese, is broadcasted from 11:00 to 11:30 every Sunday morning. The program is composed of three sections: Chinese Cultural Garden, Interaction with Listeners and Learning Chinese. In the Cultural Garden section, you may hear many aspects about Chinese culture, such as Confucius Institutes, City Scenery, Culture & Customs, Health Forum, People Profile, Food and Drink, Ethnic Groups, Idiom Story, and so on. Chinese pop songs, Chinese folk songs and music, and Cantonese songs are played between sections. The listeners can interact with the Confucius Institute by WeChat and other social networking platforms.

The “Chinese Lounge” is accessible to all Guyana at I-Radio 90.1 FM and 91.5 FM, with its farthest reach to the border region of Guyana and Brazil.
