Madam Xu Lin selected as one of the 50 people shaping the future of the U.S.-China relationship

Madam Xu Lin, Chief Executive of Confucius Institute Headquarters, is in the list of the 50 people shaping the future of the U.S.-China relationship for her leading China’s embattled soft-power venture, according to the U.S. magazine Foreign Policy’s inaugural Pacific Power Index released recently.

The list covers the following six areas: Internet, corporations, culture, education, finance and national defense. Besides Madam Xu Lin, also selected in the realm of education are Anthony Saich, Professor of International Affairs at Harvard University, Stephen Schwarzman, Board Chairman, CEO and Co-Founder of the Blackstone Group, Zhang Xin, CEO and Co-Founder of SOHO China, Kelly Yang, also known as Yang Yan, Co-Founder of Vericant, Richard Levin, CEO of Coursera and former President of Yale University, Andrea Pasinetti, also known as Pan Xunzhuo, Founder of Teach for China and Yu Minhong, Founder of the New Oriental Education & Technology Group.
