Confucius Classroom at Bangkok Christian College, Thailand, holds its inauguration ceremony

On Oct. 30th, 2014, the Confucius Classroom at Bangkok Christian College (CCBCC), which is affiliated to the Confucius Institute at Kasetsart University (CIKU) in Thailand, held its inauguration ceremony. Guests attending the ceremony included Mr. Zhou Gaoyu, First Secretary for Education from the Embassy of People’s Republic of China in Thailand, representatives from Hanban Thailand Office, and the Chinese Director of CIKU.

At the ceremony, Mr. Zhou Gaoyu expressed his heartfelt congratulations on this opening ceremony and acknowledged the achievements in Chinese language teaching by CIKU and CCBCC. The Chinese Director of CIKU also expressed their willingness to provide more support to CCBCC in its future development.

Also at the inauguration ceremony, the Bangkok Christian College showcased the teaching achievements by its teachers and the work by volunteer Chinese language teachers in the past six months. Moreover, students performed some wonderful Chinese language programs, showcasing the college’s accomplishments in Chinese language teaching. After the ceremony, Principal of Bangkok Christian College accompanied the guests and officials to visit the offices and classrooms of CCBCC.

Bangkok Christian College was established in the year of 1852. At the end of 2013, it signed an agreement with Hanban and CIKU to set up a Confucius Classroom affiliated to CIKU. This inauguration ceremony witnessed the establishment of a long-term cooperation between CIKU and Bangkok Christian College, which will further facilitate the promotion of Chinese language.
