It has been the third time that the Confucius Institute and the General Council of Vienne jointly hold the outdoor exhibition "Elsewhere is Here". Jean-Pierre Raffarin, vice president of the French Senate and former French prime minister, addressed the opening ceremony. Claude Berdaud, President of the General Council of Vienne, Claude Eidelstein, Mayor of the host city Chasseneuil-du-Poitou and other guests attended the opening ceremony.

Mr. Raffarin said at the opening ceremony that the joint exhibition of the Chinese and French artists demonstrates the friendly communication between people of the two countries. He remarked that though they come from different regions of the world, their art has transcended their culture barriers. The exhibition venue itself has remarkable symbolic meaning. “Here” (Futuroscope Theme Park) is the Holy Land of high-tech exhibition, and “Here” could be associated with any “Elsewhere”. Now, what is exhibited “Here” is just “Elsewhere”.

Mr. Zhou Changxin, the iconic figure of Chinese and western art fusion, is regarded as the founder of Chinese heavy-color oil painting and creator of Chinese heavy-painted porcelain. More than 10 pieces of his oil painting and heavy-painted porcelain have been copied and printed on outdoor display panels of ten square meters. They will be displayed in the second biggest theme park in France -- Futuroscope Theme Park for one year.

Man’s was born in an artist family and brought up in the world of colors. He has held solo exhibition at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and was awarded Medal of Honor by the French Poet and Artist Association (Société des poètes et artistes de France) and Medal for Achievement in Art by the French government. He has also held solo exhibitions in many countries including France, China, Austria, Poland, Finland, Hungary and Japan.

This is the third large outdoor exhibition "Elsewhere is Here" attracting over two million viewers annually. This art exhibition is also regarded as “a moving contemporary art museum”. It aims to engage more viewers in contemporary art and its appreciation, creating a new model for contemporary art exhibition.
