On the afternoon of September 8, 2014, over 80 teachers and students of the Confucius Institute at Tajikistan Nationality University (CITNU) held a gathering on the theme of “Sharing the Same Happy Festival Time” in the hall on the ground floor of the Confucius Institute building to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.

This event consisted of three parts, a lecture on Mid-Autumn Festival, students’ performance and games. Students participating in this event not only felt the strong festival atmosphere, but also had a better understanding of Chinese culture through interactive activities.

Afterwards, students showed even more enthusiasm in the games. In the “chopsticks contest”, students were all eager to show their skills with chopsticks; in the game of charades, students wished they could use all the Chinese words they have learned; while playing “passing the secret”, students, greatly excited and nervous, tried their best to remember what they have been told.

After the activities, teachers and students of the Confucius Institute gathered to taste the mooncakes. Many students said that Chinese traditional culture is very interesting, and hoped that more of such celebration would be held in the future so that everyone can experience the profound Chinese culture.
