Confucius Institute at Burapha University in Thailand holds various activities for its Chinese Culture Day

NAN, August 8th -- A total of 155 teachers and students from Srisawat Wittayakarn School arrived at the Confucius Institute at Burapha University in Thailand to participate in the splendid Chinese culture experiencing activities of the Chinese Culture Day.

In the beginning, Ms. Wilai Limthawaranun, Thai Director of the Confucius Institute, extended her warm welcome to all the teachers and students and invited them to watch the publicity film about the Institute. Then, teachers from the Institute showed all the participants around the campus of the Institute. Later, all the participants took part in a variety of Chinese culture experiencing activities organized by the Institute, such as Taiji boxing, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) exhibition, Chinese knots, Chinese calligraphy, tea art performance, and exhibition of Chinese books.

In the Function Room of the Institute, participants were divided into smaller groups and were guided by the teachers from the Institute to learn the 24-form Taiji boxing. Through their own practice, they fully appreciated the combination of strength and gentleness and the union of dynamic and static exercises in Taiji boxing. Therefore, while exercising their bodies, they had some preliminary knowledge of the basic techniques and unique style of Taiji boxing.

At the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) exhibition, the students showed great curiosity towards various TCM equipment and medicinal materials. While viewing the exhibits, they asked various questions and tried to learn some basic hand massage skills under the guidance of the teachers from the Institute.
