Confucius Institute at Tajikistan Nationality University holds the first performance of the large-scale Chinese culture performance and exhibition tour “Silk Road and Chinese Spirit”

On May 20, 2014 local time, the first performance of the “Silk Road and Chinese Spirit”, a large-scale Chinese culture performance and exhibition tour, was put on at the auditorium on the second floor of the main building at Tajikistan Nationality University.

Шодиев Рустам, Tajikistan Director of the Confucius Institute at Tajikistan Nationality University (CITNU), delivered a speech, in which he said that the smooth running of the CITNU would be impossible without the support and assistance given by the leaders, faculty members and students from Tajikistan Nationality University. He pointed out the significance of Tajikistan Nationality University being the first stop of the tour, and expressed his hope that the CITNU will achieve more in the future with the support of Tajikistan Nationality University.

The activity fell into two parts, i.e. an exhibition tour and a performance tour. In the exhibition tour, teachers from the CITNU displayed Chinese tea ceremony, paper-cutting, Chinese calligraphy, Peking Opera facial make-up, traditional national costumes and national musical instruments, presenting to all the viewers the charisma of this ancient oriental country.

At 1:30 p.m., the performance tour of Chinese culture officially started. The performance of Taiji Fan, a combination of both strength and softness, manifested the beauty of Chinese Kung Fu, and the opera singing provided the audience with an opportunity to closely appreciate the diversity and profoundness of Chinese opera.

This activity not only enabled the teachers and students from Tajikistan Nationality University to appreciate the charm of Chinese culture, but also proved to them the accomplishments that Chinese language teaching has attained at Tajikistan Nationality University.

No. 94 Middle School in Dushanbe will be the second stop of the tour on May 22.
