On May 19, 2014, the Confucius Institute in Alsace and the Union of Chinese Students in Strasbourg jointly held a Chinese Corner activity to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival, which attracted many enthusiastic Chinese language learners and overseas Chinese students in France.

Ms. Cheng Li, Deputy Consul General of Chinese Consulate General in Strasbourg wished everyone a happy festival. She also emphasized the importance of learning Chinese and encouraged the students at the Institute to learn and master Chinese language. The overseas Chinese students gave a presentation introducing the origin, tradition and custom of the Dragon Boat Festival from the perspectives of Qu Yuan, Zongzi (sticky rice puddings), salted duck eggs, and Five Deadly Venoms. The teachers from the Confucius Institute shared with the students their homemade Zongzi, salted duck eggs and realgar wine. The activity was very successful and everyone had a great time.
