At 3:00 o’clock in the afternoon, these Chinese students who studied in France 50 years ago arrived at the Confucius Institute and were led by the staff at the Institute to visit the photo exhibition celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of China-France diplomatic relations. A reception was also organized, and many distinguished personages on China-France friendship were invited to attend the reception, including Mr. Ma Yansheng, Education Counselor from the Chinese Embassy in France, Mr. Ying Qiang, Director of Paris Regional Office of Xinhua News Agency, the Director of Council of the Confucius Institute, the General Secretary of Council of the Confucius Institute, and some overseas Chinese student representatives.

Mr. Richard Blanchet, Director of Council of the Confucius Institute, delivered a highly warm speech on behalf of the Institute. Afterwards, along with the introduction by the two directors of the Institute, Ji Yunxia and Cedric Quennesson, all the guests watched a video showcasing the Confucius Institute of Bretagne and the activities it organized. In order to welcome these senior students, the Institute prepared a special gift, a video about their life here in Rennes edited from some relevant photographic and video materials.

Many of them could find themselves young in these video. After 50 years, they have turned from vigorous youths to grey-haired seniors. They were full of emotional thoughts and many of them were in tears with excitement. Then, Counselor Ma Yansheng introduced to these senior guests the changes of China in the last fifty years. After that, all the guests started to talk happily with each other about their past and beautiful future and they all hold high expectations on the China-France relations.

On behalf of the Embassy, Counselor Ma Yansheng presented to the Director of Council of the Confucius Institute the Photo Album on the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of China-France Diplomatic Relations, as a token of gratitude for his effort and contribution to the China-France relations. And he highly praised the active and serious working attitudes of the staff at the Institute and sent his best regards to all members of the Institute.
