The Special Envoy Du Qiwen visited CI-USP

The Special Envoy Mr. Du Qiwen of the Pacific Island Forum and the Chinese Ambassador to Fiji Mr. Huang Yong visited the Confucius Institute at the University of the South Pacific (CI-USP) at 4pm on April 28th. The director of CI-USP MS. Joan Yee, the Chinese director Professor Li Denggui and the Chinese teachers attended this activity.

Companied by the Chinese director Professor Li, the Special Envoy Mr. Du and the Ambassador Mr. Huang experienced the Chinese Culture Experiencing Machine, visited the classroom and office, watched the documentaryvideoof CI-USP, and held an amiable conversation with teachers. Professor Li reviewed the progress of CI-USP’s establishment in details for the distinguished guests, reported the present situation, future plan, andthe difficulties encountered in the development process in the area of the South Pacific. Mr. Du Qiwen spoke highly of the positive role CI-USP played in the promotion of Chinese language and culture in the area of the South Pacific. Besides, he expressed his best wishes to CI-USP.

At the end of the visit, the Special Envoy Mr. Du Qiwen and the Ambassador Mr. Huang Yong had a photo taken in front of the Confucius’ bronze statue.
