Deputy Director-General of Hanban Hu Zhiping Visits the Chinese Medicine Confucius Institute at Hyogo College of Medicine in Japan

On the afternoon of October 31, Hu Zhiping, Deputy Chief Executive of Confucius Institute Headquarters and Deputy Director-General of Hanban, together with other two officials, paid a visit to the Chinese Medicine Confucius Institute at Hyogo College of Medicine in Japan. Sohei Shinka, General Director of Hyogo College of Medicine, Jyouji Sakamoto, Executive Director of Hyogo College of Medicine (in charge of the Confucius Institute), Kenji Nakanishi, President of Hyogo College of Medicine and all the staff members of the Confucius Institute warmly welcomed them.

Deputy Director-General Mr. Hu first visited different places and facilities of the Chinese Medicine Confucius Institute, and he then listened to the work reports of both the Japanese and Chinese directors and exchanged views on the future development of the Confucius Institute with General Director Shinka, Executive Director Sakamoto and President Nakanishi. Mr. Hu also extended heartfelt thanks to Hyogo College of Medicine and General Director Shinka for their full support for the development of the Confucius Institute. He highly recognized the achievements having been made by the Confucius Institute since its establishment, and further pointed out that the Confucius Institute can not only serve as the backbone and promoter of teaching and research, talent cultivation, as well as exchanges and cooperation with Chinese universities of Hyogo College of Medicine through providing Chinese language teaching, organizing cultural and academic lectures, convening international seminars, supporting jointly-cultivated student programs, publishing research findings and so forth, but also help local citizens learn the Chinese language and know more about China to enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples. General Director Shinka felt grateful to Confucius Institute Headquarters for their support, and he said that since now the Confucius Institute has a clearer goal, he was rather confident about the future of the Chinese Medicine Confucius Institute at Hyogo College of Medicine.
