Hillcrest School Moncton, New Brunswick Successfully Hosts a China-themed School Party

Moncton, May 14th, 2013 - During the Asian Culture Month in New Brunswick, Canada, Hillcrest Primary School in Moncton hosted a China-themed school party, organized by the volunteer teacher An Yang. At the school party, a short film about the learning process of children at the Chinese language classroom was played, and awards were presented to students with outstanding Chinese achievements. In addition, the children also gave a variety of Chinese performances. They sang Chinese songs, recited Chinese poems, and performed Tai Chi, etc. The volunteer Chinese teacher An Yang and the Principal Mr. Trainor sang a traditional Canadian song together. The wonderful performances won lots of applause.

Moreover, Ms. Teng Jing, Director of the Confucius Institute in New Brunswick, also attended the school party, and delivered a speech at the party. With enthusiasm, she praised the students’ performances, and spoke appreciatively of the volunteers for their works, and she also brought gift boxes featuring Chinese characteristics, which were sent by Hanban, to give the school as presents.
