Toronto,May 12th, 2013 - The second HSK (a Chinese proficiency test) this year was held at Bond International College, where the HSK Toronto Centre is located, as scheduled. Despite the cold spell in later spring, a large number of examinees were extremely enthusiastic. Accompanied by teachers and parents, the examinees arrived at the test centre ahead of time so as to get familiar with the test centre environment and to prepare for the test.

According to the teacher in charge of the centre, a total of 33 examinees from the Great Toronto Area took the HSK Level 2 to Level 6 tests this time. The statistical analysis of the registration shows that the overall Chinese proficiency of the examinees from the Greater Toronto Area has been rising steadily, and more and more people are beginning to take the tests at the intermediate and advanced levels. As a “permit” for studying in China, there is increasing demand for the HSK test.

After the test, Melody Chang, a Chinese language teacher from Lycée Français de Toronto, said Lycée Français de Toronto had established a sound cooperative relationship with the HSK Toronto Centre and highly appreciated the test organization and examination administration of the centre. The 19 examinees led by Ms. Chang all said after the test that they had performed at their best and they expected to have good results.

In addition, the HSK Toronto Centre will hold the third HSK test on December 1st, 2013, and the Business Chinese Test (BCT) and the Youth Chinese Test (YCT) on September 22nd and November 16th respectively. The centre will also constantly bring forth new things by introducing and piloting the online test based on the traditional paper-and-pencil test so that examinees from the Greater Toronto Area can be provided with more tests and more flexible test services.

For detailed information of the test in Toronto, examinees can visit the centre’s website at www.hsktoronto.ca. For answers to any question regarding preparing for the test please contact Ms. Zhai through e-mail at contact@hsktoronto.ca or phone at 416-266-8668 or 416-266-8878*361.
