Chinese Culture is Welcomed in Moldova - Confucius Institute at ULIM held the Cultural Activity in the “Ovidius” Library

On the February 22, 2013, Confucius Institute at ULIM held an attractive cultural activity in the “Ovidius” Library. More than 70 Moldovan citizens attended and appreciated the event.

Moldovan citizens have a rising interest towards the Chinese language and culture. Mrs. Cebanu, the director of the “Ovidius” Library, invited Confucius Institute at ULIM to make a cultural activity for the readers of the Library and the students from the educational institutions nearby the Library. Confucius Institute attaches great importance to this event and invited the students from Confucius Institute at ULIM to dance and to sing Chinese traditional songs and dances. The volunteer teacher, Mrs. Sun Yang, introduced to the participants the art of paper cutting and presented to them some works. Taking the opportunity, the Director from China part of the Confucius Institute at ULIM explained to the participants the purposes of the Confucius Institute and introduced to them the art of Chinese Calligraphy. As well, he made an interactive quiz concerning the knowledge of the participants about China. In the end, on behalf of Hanban and the Confucius Institute Headquarters the director presented to the Library Chinese language teaching materials and Chinese Spring Festival gifts. Furthermore he congratulated the Moldovan citizens with Chinese Spring Festival.

The Chinese cultural activity offered to the Moldovan citizens a wonderful impression, and enhanced the important role of the Confucius Institute at ULIM in the local cultural activities.
