Confucius Institute at the University of Zambia set up HSK, YCT exam achievement new record

Since May 2012, commissioned by Hanban / Confucius Institute Headquarters, Confucius Institute at the University of Zambia had organized Chinese Proficiency Tests(HSK 1-5 level), Chinese Tests for primary and secondary school students (YCT 1 level) for five times, the exam locations were situated separately in the University of Zambia, Lusaka International School, Lusaka Garden School Luanshya Trust school, Copperbelt University, candidates Source became boarder, number of candidates had been improved, and achievement for the test was very high.

As of early 2013, source of the candidates to participate in the HSK and YCT in our Center had covered thirty countries ,such as Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, South Korea, North Korea, and so on. The components of candidates are public and private college students, middle school students, teachers, staff, all kinds of social person, foreign students and foreign staff. Compared with previous years, enrollment had a substantial increase and was more than one hundred people, it had Advanced Proficiency Test (HSK 5 level) candidate for the first time. The pass rate of HSK 1 and HSK 2 was 100%, that of HSK 3 and HSK 4 was more than 85%, a number of students had gotten good results. The pass rate of YCT was up to 95%, more than five students got full marks. Examination level included all sorts of Chinese Proficiency Test.

The students were very happy after the result announced, who expressed their wishes to the teachers: they had stronger motivation to study Chinese language because of good achievement in HSK and YCT, they would strive to a more advanced level and get scholarship provided by Hanban, then go to China to make further leaning and take part in summer camp in order to have better experience about Chinese customs.
