According to the feedback of the last Textbook Training, the Confucius Institute at METU specially worked out the Program this year, which consists of introduction of the textbooks, seminars, PPT exhibition, textbooks exhibition and so on. All the textbooks used in this training program include Contemporary Chinese, Happy Chinese, Chinese Paradise, Learn Chinese with Me, Chinese Graphic Dictionary, 800 Chinese words and International Curriculum for Chinese Language Education which are all compiled in both Chinese and Turkish.

The local Chinese teachers attending the training expressed their gratitude to Hanban for supplying Chinese-Turkish textbooks since they were really short of such kind of textbooks in Turkey. As some teachers attended the last training and some even had been using these textbooks for a period of time, there were plenty of heated discussions during the seminars. All the participants took an active part in the discussion and got inspiration from it.

On Nov. 24th, Mr. Wang Shanping, the director of the Confucius Institute at Middle East Technical University delivered the certificates to the teachers attending the training. Through this training, the participants learned new ideas about teaching, got broadened outlook of studies. For instance, the attendees were very much inspired by the issues discussed such as how to increase the fun of teaching, overcome the shortage of textbooks, and how to make the Chinese culture understood better by cultural comparison. They hoped the Confucius Institute at METU could organize more activities like this in the future. The attendance and the enthusiastic speech of Mr. Yu Jian, Cultural Attache of the Chinese Embassy in Turkey, and the involvement of the two journalists from main Chinese news agency (Xinhua News Agency and China Radio International) added a special highlight to the training program.
