Confucius Institute of the Free International University of Moldova successfully celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival, and the 63rd National Day of the People’s Republic of China

September 28, 2012 – on the occasion of the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays, Confucius Institute of the Free International University of Moldova organized a Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day celebration, which was attended by over 100 Chinese and foreign teachers and students of the Confucius Institute. People present at the event joyfully celebrated the Chinese Traditional Festival, and welcomed the upcoming National Day. Vice-Chancellor and Foreign Department Dean of the Free International University of Moldova also attended the event and delivered a speech.

During the event, Confucius Institute teachers made a special presentation, destined to Moldovan students, about the origin of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival moon, worships, lanterns, and the family reunion traditional customs during this day. After that, the audience was invited to participate in game-activities and, of course, to taste the delicious moon cakes, which came all the way from China.

Confucius Institute students performed Chinese songs - "The sun never sets"(日不落), "Two Butterflies"(两只蝴蝶) and "Jasmine Flower"(茉莉花) – which let everyone enjoy the Chinese music style. The atmosphere was pushed to even a higher point, when teachers from Confucius Institute performed paper-cut art and the Tibetan dance "Snow Mountain Love" (雪山之恋). Game activities such as "Blow the candles out with a Chinese aspirated sound" and "Pick-up peanuts with chopsticks" were also warmly welcomed by the audience. The event was closed up with everybody singing together the song "Mingyue jishi you"(明月几时有). Lastly, the atmosphere of the event was filled with laugher, song, and friendship.
