Nepalese Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai offered congratulations on July 11, 2012 at the time of the 5th Anniversary of the establishment of Confucius Institute at Kathmandu University.

The following is the full text of the congratulation:

On the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the establishment of Confucius Institute in Kathmandu University, I congratulate the Institute family, all the graduates and wish for greater success in its endeavor in the future.

Language is one of the strongest components of culture of any society that binds different cultures together. In this sense, the Institute has been tremendously contributing in promoting cultural relations between our two ancient civilizations. Nepal and China enjoy cordial relations since history and such activities would further strengthen people to people level relation between the two countries.

I would like to thank the government of the People’s Republic of China for taking this initiative to establish the Confucius Institute at Kathmandu University and to provide generous support for its operation.

Dr. Baburam Bhattarai
