The first YCT test (Chinese language level test for middle and primary school students) was held by Confucius Institute at the University of Zambia on May 26. The candidates are from Zambia, North Korea and India.

The test was attached great importance by Confucius Institute at UNZA, which had given adequate mobilization and organized well-targeted training programs. The test has received warm welcome by the students and their parents who place hopes on their children. They hope their children will learn good Chinese language and culture to lay a good foundation for their personal development.

Confucius Institute at UNZA has organized Chinese language level test for college students and adults for many times since its establishment. The number of candidates has been increasing and some of them have applied for scholarship from the headquarters of Confucius Institute(Hanban). In order to enlarge the scale and advance the level of Chinese language teaching in a further step, Confucius Institute at UNZA started the teaching program for middle and primary school students this January, and organized the first YCT test this month.

We will continue to intensify popularization of Chinese language tests, improve training program, enhance cooperation and communication with other colleges, actively explore new developing approaches of Confucius Institute and provide more opportunities to study Chinese and take the level tests for learners of different ages and levels.
