Mdm. Chen Zhili, Vice-Chairwoman of the Standing Committee of NPC, P.R. China and Chairwoman of the All-China Women's Federation, visited the Confucius Institute at Kathmandu University in the afternoon of April 3, 2012 during her visit in Nepal.

Mr. Dina Nath Sharma, President of Kathmandu University noted in his address at the Welcoming Ceremony that over the past five years since the Confucius Institute was established, Kathmandu University and Hebei University of Economics and Business, China have joined hands and scored many achievements to be proud of. Minister for Education in Nepal Mr. Dinanath Sharma expressed his appreciation to the Chinese Government for its long-standing support for the education in Nepal and his expectation on more cooperation down the road.

Mdm. Chen Zhili pointed out that Confucius Institute plays a great role in bridging China and Nepal for a deepening development and offers an enabling platform for students of both countries to learn from each other, share language and culture.

Breakthroughs have been constantly made in the mode of "One Institute, Multiple Teaching Sites" of Confucius Institute at Kathmandu University. Seizing on the enabling opportunity of her visit in Nepal, Mdm. Chen Zhili conferred plaques for four Confucius Classrooms, including the Confucius Classroom at Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management, and watched wonderful performances staged by teachers and students of the Confucius Institute. She also visited the library and classrooms of the Institute, exchanged views with teachers and students and leaved a message on the Guestbook.

Mdm. Chen Zhili launched a five-day goodwill visit to Nepal at the invitation of Jhakku Prasad Subedi, Deputy Chairman of Nepalese Constituent Assembly.
