Vice-Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Chen Zhili Visits the Confucius Institute at Bishkek Humanities University, Kyrgyzstan

On January 10, 2012, Chen Zhili, special envoy of President Hu Jintao and Vice-Chairperson of the National People's Congress, who was participating in the celebrations marking the twentieth anniversary of the establishment of Sino-Kygystan diplomatic relations, paid a visit to the Confucius Institute at Bishkek Humanities University accompanied by former Kygyz President Otunbaeva Roza and Education Minister Sadykov Kanat.

Chen Zhili talked in detail about the operations of Confucius Institutes, and also engaged in cordial talks with Chinese language teachers and volunteers. She highly praised the efforts made by both the Chinese and their host countries in supporting the development of Confucius Institutes, and enthusiastically encouraged students at Confucius Institutes to do their best in their studies of Chinese to contribute to friendship between China and Kygyzstan.

Chen Zhili also visited the teaching materials exhibition held by the Confucius Institute, made detailed enquiries about the use of Chinese teaching materials in Kyrgyzstan, and acknowledged Hanban's exceptional success in compiling Chinese teaching materials.

Chen Zhili was accompanied in her visit by Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Le Yucheng, and Ambassador Wang Kaiwen and Counselor Deng Hao of the Chinese Embassy in Kyrgyzstan.
