DSU Students brought Chinese Culture to Jefferson Elementary School

On January 27th, 2012, DSU vice president Mr. Hal Haynes and Chinese Director of Confucius Institute at Dickinson State University Professor Hao Mei took current DSU Chinese students Jingchao Chen, Jingyi Zhang and Zibo Chen to give Chinese culture presentations to the Fourth Grade students at Jefferson Elementary School.

They introduced the Chinese Spring Festival, daily life of Chinese elementary school students and paper cutting. The pupils, all of whom were dressed in Chinese red, were highly interested in China and they all prepared lists of questions about China. The interactions worked quite well and gifts like couplets, Chinese red envelope, paper-cuts and mini kite were given to the pupils.
